In occasion of the Yacht Club de Monaco 2012 Awards prize giving ceremony, Igor Simčič, founder of the Esimit Europa project, was announced Yachtsman of the Year. The prestigious title goes to the member of the Yacht Club de Monaco, who has the most successfully represented the Yacht Club during the 2012 regatta season. Namely, the Esimit Sailing Team set a new impressive course record at the Giraglia Rolex Cup, smashed the Wally record Monaco – Porto Cervo, won the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, took line honours at the Palermo – Monte Carlo regatta and the Bernetti Lombardini Cup and won also at the famous Barcolana regatta in Trieste for the third consecutive time. Before taking line honours at the Rolex Middle Sea Race, the Esimit Europa 2 yacht, sponsored by Gazprom, established also the benchmark time for the Medot Sailing Trophy on the route from Trieste to Valletta.
Igor Simčič was presented with the "Credit Suisse" trophy by the President of the Yacht Club de Monaco, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. Within the festive occasion Simčič emphasized, that it is his honour that the Esimit Europa 2 yacht competes for the Club, and thanked its President for his hospitality and support. Moreover, Igor Simčič and H.S.H. Prince Albert II discussed the possibilities of further strengthening the already excellent relations between the Esimit Europa project and the Yacht Club de Monaco.

The Yacht Club de Monaco was founded in 1953 by H.S.H. Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Since 1984 H.S.H. Prince Albert II presides over the Club with more than 1200 members coming from 60 different countries.
