The Esimit Europa project, by fulfilling its mission of connecting the worlds of sports with diplomacy, social responsibility, culture and business, was the main sponsor of the charity football match that was held in Bilje near Nova Gorica (Slovenia), in the region where the project was founded 20 years ago.

Upon the invitation of the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor, who was a honorary patron of this event, also His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco played in the charity football match along with the founder of the Esimit Europa project Igor Simčič, and many other famous Slovenians like one of world’s best skiers Tina Maze, boxing champion Dejan Žavec, great hockey player Anže Kopitar, best Slovenian sailor with two Olympic medals Vasilij Zbogar, who is also a member of the Esimit Sailing Team, and many others.

Since the Esimit Europa 2 sailing yacht competes for the Yacht Club de Monaco and for the Slovenian Sailing Federation, it seemed a natural choice to be a part of this eventful match organised for a charitable cause with the aim of raising funds for the Foundation “Vrabček Upanja”, with the purpose of buying new necessary equipment and medical devices for the hospital in Stara Gora, which takes care of children with special needs, and the Maternity Department of the hospital in Šempeter pri Gorici that helps mothers from both sides of the national border welcome newborns in this life.
