In June, the next offshore race on the schedule was already one of the classic Mediterranean races, the Giraglia Rolex Cup. In this year’s edition of the famous race, which has historically connected France and Italy with starts and finishes in Saint-Tropez and San Remo or Genova, the finish line has been set in Monte Carlo to combine the unique opportunity of the inauguration of the new Yacht Club de Monaco clubhouse. After 24 hours, 35 minutes and 56 seconds of sailing (at 12:35:56 CEST), Esimit Europa 2 was for the fourth time the first one to sail across the finish line of the Giraglia Rolex Cup, which is its jubilee 30th consecutive line honours victory. On this occasion, Monegasque Pierre Casiraghi, member of the Yacht Club de Monaco’s Board Committee, was sailing as one of the helmsmen with the multinational Esimit Sailing Team, and he proudly helmed the yacht into the Port Hercule, where the yacht club is located. Immediately after the Giraglia Rolex Cup, the heat at the inauguration event of the Yacht Club de Monaco's new clubhouse rose. Esimit Europa 2 welcomed on board Hugues Moret, French Ambassador to Monaco, and members of the Association of Honorary Consuls of Monaco for a VIP sailing with the best Russian female sailor, Ekaterina Skudina, helming Esimit Europa 2 on this occasion.

On June 20, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, accompanied by the royal family, officially opened the new premises of the Yacht Club de Monaco, in front of 4,000 guests, including government ministers, members representing 66 nationalities, and crews taking part in the Giraglia Rolex Cup, among which was also the Esimit Europa 2 crew. The new building is an architectural masterpiece designed to affirm Monaco’s yachting identity. Read more

After its 30th consecutive win at the Giraglia Rolex Cup, the Esimit Europa 2 returned to the Adriatic Sea, to its base port in Muggia, to prepare for the unique mixture of diplomatic, business and sports activities scheduled in the autumn of this year’s racing season. So stay tuned.
