Fulfilling its mission of connecting people, the aim of the Esimit Europa project is also to help the less privileged children in various ways. This summer the Esimit Europa project again supported the Fleet of Hope for the Children in Need which is organised by sunshine4kids.

A large fleet of 12 sailing boats composed the Fleet of Hope for the Children in Need that took on a week long sailing in the Baltic Sea from the island of Fehmarn to Neustadt between 18 and 25 July this year. Organised by the association sunshine4kids, this project aims to give children and adolescents in extremely difficult life situations an opportunity to forget about the pains of their everyday lives by taking them to a holiday adventure, enriched with an unforgettable experience of sailing that inevitably brings smiles to their faces. The Esimit Europa project sponsored one of the yachts taking part in this year’s trip, continuing the good cooperation which was established already last year.

Earlier this year sunshine4kids was listed among top 25 social projects in Germany, which is a great honour to the project that was granted by the Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. The founder of this project, Gaby Schäfer, said: "I don't know if it is because of this recognition, but this year the fleet has again exceeded all expectations. We were overwhelmed by the impressions as we shared the moments of joy and happiness with children. It was just wonderful. I wish to thank all the sponsors and the team of volunteers who enabled such a large project this year."
