In February activities of the Esmit Europa project continued with season’s preparations on diplomatic level. In today’s newsletter we already disclose in which country Esimit Europa will take part at the race for the first time, who will host the reception for the Esimit Sailing Team at the beginning of summer, and which official support the project gained this month.
More and more European businessmen and diplomats are giving the project their official support because of its achivemenets on all leveles – all of them recognize the project as an inspirational symbol of unity and cooperation. Such acts of official support are important for the future plans and fulfilment of project’s mission of connecting diplomacy, business and sport on the highest level.
At the beginning of February founder of the Esimit Europa project, Igor Simčič, was invited to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia in Zagreb, where he met with Hrvoje Marušić, Assistant to the Minister. They talked about further plans of the project and about this season’s plans for the Esimit Europa 2 yacht, and they announced that Esimit Europa 2 will take part at one of the regattas in the Republic of Croatia for the first time during this season. In the previous years, the Esimit Europa project was a partner of Croatia’s biggest regatta – Fiumanka – and of the European Youth Laser Radial Championship in Split. Read more

Ambassador of Germany in Slovenia, dr. Anna Elisabeth Prinz, welcomed Igor Simčič at the Embassy in Ljubljana, to extend her support to the project. The Ambassador first got acquainted with the project during last year, when the Esimit Sailing Team – lead by the sailing legend and one of the best sailors of all time, Germany’s Jochen Schümann – participated at the world's largest sailing event, famous German regatta Kieler Woche, where they took line honours at both races and set a new course record. She also extended an official invitation to the Esimit Sailing Team to the reception at the Embassy at the beginning of the summer. Read more

Igor Simčič was welcomed by the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, who recognized the successes of the Esimit Europa project, and granted his official support for its future endeavors. The government officials in Cyprus have supported the Esimit Europa project since the launch of the Esimit Europa 2 yacht in 2010. During the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2012, Esimit Europa 2 was invited to carry the emblems and the logo of the Presidency. The good cooperation continued in 2013 when the Esimit Europa project supported the World Youth Championship in Sailing in Cyprus, and was now crowned with the reception of the founder of the Esimit Europa project, Igor Simčič, by the President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades.
