Dear Subscriber,
The European flagged maxi Esimit Europa 2 continues her winning streak into her jubilee racing season by taking line honours already at three offshore races in the first part of this year’s racing season in May and June: the Volcano Race, the Sanremo – St. Tropez Race and the Giraglia Rolex Cup Race.
“A beautiful season opener” as skipper of Esimit Europa 2 Jochen Schümann described it, the Volcano Race remains one of the most scenic offshore races in the Mediterranean and this year marked the fifth running of the race. This event aims to grow as one of the best long distance races in the yachting calendar. The fleet set sail on this offshore race covering some 400 nautical miles across the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Aeolian Islands with its famous volcanic archipelago, with starts and finishes in the Italian city of Gaeta, located about half-way between Rome and Naples. Esimit Europa 2 was the first yacht to cross the finish line with an elapsed time of 1 day, 21 hours and 2 minutes. This was already the second time she has taken part in this spectacular race in which she took the line honours also in last year’s edition. Read more |

The special charm of this race is a spectacular start at the stroke of midnight from Sanremo, which makes it even more exciting.
