Dear Subscriber,
at the Esimit Europa project we are counting down days to the first official trainings this season (Valencia, Spain, 9. May), where the Esimit Europa 2 yacht will shine with a new design and where the Esimit Sailing Team will reveal all the upcoming challenges in this exciting season. But one thing is already sure! First among the thrilling races is the legendary German sea festival, the Kieler Woche. The Esimit Sailing Team, skippered by multiple Olympic medallist Jochen Schümann, will take part at two races in Kiel (22. and 23. June), while the all-star crew will present themselves to the German media at the official press conference. During our performance in the northern Germany, new partnership and new sailors will be announced, while at the same time we will take part at some of the accompanying social events. Kieler Woche – world’s biggest sailing event first challenge for Esimit Europa 2 in 2013 season

With participation at the 131st edition of the Kieler Woche (22. to 30. June) Esimit Europa 2 is heading to northern Europe for the very first time. On 22. and 23. June, the 18-member crew, currently coming from 8 different European nations, will have to cope with many competitors and unpredictable waters of the Baltic Sea. According to the organizers of the German sea festival, this year’s sailing events in Kiel expect more than 3 million visitors, 1800 boats and 4500 sailors from more than 50 countries, which will compete at 450 races on 11 different courses. Project's first lady is after a long winter ready to embark

Spain’s Valencia has served as a winter base for Esimit Europa 2. In general, the yacht went through a big maintenance and refit job which goes down even to details of the generator which delivers power for all the hydraulics. In association with key suppliers, new sails were developed and constructed over winter which will impact directly on sailing performance. There was a complete new paint job done and the yacht will be presented with a new graphic design. We just can’t wait for the first training days in Valencia at the beginning of May, where new design will be presented in the front of the Spanish media and project’s partners!

“Discover & Win” Facebook prize game attracted more than 300 players from all over the world

Esimit Europa Facebook fans evoked their childhood memories by playing the “Discover & Win” prize game, where they had to match 8 pairs with different photos in the fastest time possible. Among more than 300 players, who altogether played over 1,000 games, good fortune smiled to Francesco Galgano won an iPad. Seven other players coming from Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy and UK were awarded with Esimit Europa jackets and T-shirts. Congratulations!
