the 2013 season ended early for the Esimit Europa 2 yacht due to break of the rig during the record attempt between Trieste and Valletta for the Medot Sailing Trophy. Therefore, the yacht had to withdraw its participation from the last scheduled challenge in the season – the Rolex Middle Sea Race. Nevertheless, up to that point, Esimit Europa 2 won all the races attended in October in the Adriatics. After winning the Bernetti Cup in Trieste (Italy), the Esimit Europa 2 yacht won also at Barcolana, the largest single start regatta in the world. With the two wins in the Gulf of Trieste, the yacht concluded its successful season with seven line honour victories and the course record at Kieler Woche. Overall, the European flagged maxi yacht extended its winning streak to 28th line honour victories since christening in 2010.

While the Esimit Europa 2 yacht raced in the Gulf of Trieste, the Esimit Europa project entered a partnership with MIB School of Management from Trieste; the best business school in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. The partnership was established with the aim of spreading the project’s values by rewarding excellence even wider. Besides that, the efforts of the Esimit Europa project were recognized with the reception of the Esimit Sailing Team by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, and with the Esimit Europa gala reception prior to the Barcolana regatta hosted by Debora Serracchiani, President of the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia.

With the conclusion of the racing season is now time for detailed analysis and plans for the upcoming 2014 season. One thing is certain, it will be as exciting as all the previous ones! Esimit Europa 2 wins Barcolana, the largest single start regatta in the world

Once again, the Barcolana regatta lived up to its reputation, as more than 1,500 yachts gathered at the sea festival in the Gulf of Trieste. Starting the race with so many yachts was a huge challenge for all the crews, but Esimit Europa 2 performed a clean start in very light winds and immediately took the lead on the 13.2 nautical mile long course, which was then shortened due to lack of wind. The Esimit Sailing Team, composed of all-star sailors from 10 European countries, worked really hard and crossed the finish line first at 12:16 CEST with elapsed time of 2 hours and 16 minutes. By doing so, they achieved the fourth consecutive line honours in front of thousands of spectators at a true sailing festival in the heart of Trieste. Esimit Europa entered a partnership with MIB School of Management from Trieste

The Esimit Europa project started a collaboration with MIB School of Management from Trieste. The partnership is based on an international cooperation, as both parties share common values and stream for excellence. Moreover, it creates international connections in fields of diplomacy and business including corporate social responsibility. At this occasion, MIB’s best student joined the Esimit Sailing Team's training. By the initiative not only excellence will be awarded, but also the experience among MIB School of Management students and Esimit Sailing Team members will be shared in leadership meetings. The President of the Republic of Slovenia welcomed the Esimit Sailing Team

In the fall, the Esimit Europa 2 yacht returned to the Mediterranean. On this occasion, the Esimit Sailing Team attended a reception held by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor. Medot Wine Cellar hosted Europe’s best sailors

Medot is hand in hand with one of the world’s fastest sailing yachts – Esimit Europa 2 – conquering the world. It sponsors the yacht from its premiere participation in 2010. On Wednesday, 9 October, Medot Wine Cellar hosted the Esimit Sailing Team while they stopped in the region for attending races in the Gulf of Trieste. Read more˃˃˃
 

Hat trick for the Esimit Europa 2 yacht at the Bernetti Cup

Almost 150 yachts gathered for the Bernetti Cup, a 15-nautical-mile long sailing race between the cities of Trieste and Sistiana in Italy. In previous editions, the large fleet on such a short starting line caused numerous close-calls and even collisions, so this year the organisers divided yachts into two groups starting 20 minutes apart. The Esimit Europa 2 started at 9.30 am CEST in the first group (Open Sailing class), sailed very solidly and gained a significant advantage over its nearest competitor by the first buoy. The team left nothing to chance throughout the remainder of the Bernetti Cup. The European-flagged maxi yacht maintained a good pace, increasing the distance over its competitors and crossed the finish line with a significant distance over the second-placed Sayonara (ITA) and third-placed Alligator 2 (SRB).
