it was a month of exciting moments filled with joy. The recent success at the Rolex Fastnet Race was crowned at the prize giving ceremony in London where Igor Simčič, owner of the Esimit Europa 2 yacht, was awarded with several trophies for Esimit Europa 2’s achievements at this prestigious race. In addition, Igor Simčič has received the exclusive membership invitation to the Royal Ocean Racing Club as a recognition for the outstanding sailing results. Meanwhile, Esimit Europa 2 was shipped from UK to the Adriatic Sea, where she performed at her first race in Slovenia, a unique Diplomatic Regatta. The Esimit Sailing Team was inspired by the wonderful moments spent in the company of children with Down syndrome on the day before the Diplomatic Regatta. Now our minds are set on the upcoming races, Bernetti Lombardini Cup and the Barcolana regatta in Trieste (Italy). With more than 1,500 boats at the same starting line the latter is the largest single start race in the world. Esimit Europa 2 takes line honours at the Diplomatic Regatta in Slovenia

At the Diplomatic Race in Slovenia, which is a unique happening closely resembling the mission of the Esimit Europa project, the European-flagged Esimit Europa 2 showed its dominant form in the maritime city of Izola. In 56 minutes of sailing the crew achieved its 26th line honours victory. Helmed by the four-time Olympic medallist Jochen Schümann, the multinational Esimit Sailing Team took its mission seriously and impressed the mass of spectators at the regatta field between the Slovenian cities of Izola and Koper. At this occasion, professional sailors were joined by over 50 diplomatic consular missions accredited in Slovenia, along with representatives of the Slovenian Ministries and the Government. A day to rember – sailing with children with Down syndrome

The day before its premiere participation in Slovenia, at the Diplomatic Regatta in Izola, the Esimit Sailing Team members spent in the company of children from Association for Down syndrome, Planet 47. With actions such as this they emphasized the main mission of the project, which is connecting all Europeans. The Esimit Sailing Team as well as their guests spent a relaxed day under the yacht's wing, together performing true sailing maneuvers as it is helming, tacking and hoisting the main sail.
