MAXI YACHT ROLEX CUP

One of the highlights of the Mediterranean yachting season is the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. Costa Smeralda in Sardinia provides a unique backdrop and world-class sailing conditions for the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. The event takes its roots in first-ever Maxi World Championship, which took place in Sardinia in 1980, the brainchild of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and its president, the Aga Khan. The race is now a growing attraction as more yachts enter the competition every year. The northeastern part of Sardinia every September shines with the biggest, fastest and technologically most advanced yachts. As in the previous two seasons, also in 2012, Esimit Europa 2 successfully tackled all races, this season there were four, by taking line honours at all of them. The success is even bigger, as the yacht and its European crew won also on corrected time in the Maxi racing class.
