One of the biggest sailing events in the world, with a tradition dating back to 1937. The start traditionally takes place in the city of Stockholm, but as it is inside the Stockholm archipelago, start is dependent on weather conditions. Alternative start is in Sandhamn in the outskirts of the Stockholm archipelago. The two-day race is organized by the Royal Swedish Yacht Club, KSSS and is known as the most prestigious race in the Baltic Sea with an average of 300 participants. The route takes yachts around the Sweden’s largest island and largest island in the Baltic Sea, and finishing at their starting point.
The event area is open for spectators along the course.
ÅF Offshore Race is with many underwater rocks a challenging contest for all competitors, this year there were 248 at the scenic start in Stockholm. With 5,3 meter draft, Esimit Europa 2 skillfully navigated its way to conquering the Baltic Sea challenge in 40 hours and 33 minutes, more than 4 hours in front of the nearest competitor.
