Giraglia Rolex Cup is one of the most known distance races in the Mediterranean. Races will be organized by Yacht Club Italiano under the aegis of the Federazione Italiana Vela, the Fédération Française de Voile in collaboration with Société Nautique de St. Tropez, City of Saint Tropez, Yacht Club de France, Yacht Club Sanremo, Union Nationale pour la Course au Large and Yacht Club de Monaco. It is comprised of three days of inshore racing in the bay of Saint-Tropez and the offshore race with its start at the historic port of Saint-Tropez. The course takes the competing yachts pass the l'île de la Fourmigue and across the sea to round the Giraglia – a rocky islet off northern Corsica – before racing to the finish, which will in 2014 be in Monte Carlo to pay homage to the opening of the new Yacht Club de Monaco. Events yearly attract a fleet of more than 200 yachts, representing a wide range of nationalities.
Excellent memories bring Esimit Europa 2 to the start of the 2014 62nd edition of the race as at the jubilee 60th Giraglia race the yacht set the impressive record of 14 hours 56 minutes and 16 seconds, bettering the previous record by 3 hours and 6 minutes. Furthermore, the yacht took consecutive line honour wins between the years of 2010 and 2012.
