The Giraglia Rolex Cup Race is one of the most renowned offshore races in the Mediterranean. The 63rd race takes the participating yachts over the famous 243 nautical miles of the course from Saint Tropez, around the rocky Giraglia Island just off the northern tip of Corsica to the finish line in Genoa. Esimit Europa 2 has participated in this race four times, each time taking line honours, while in 2012 she set an amazing course record of 14 hours, 56 minutes and 16 seconds, smashing the previous one by 3 hours and 6 minutes.
The Giraglia Rolex Cup is organised by Yacht Club Italiano under the aegis of the Federazione Italiana Vela and the Fédération Française de Voile in collaboration with Société Nautique de St. Tropez, the City of Saint Tropez, the Yacht Club de France, the Yacht Club Sanremo and Union Nationale pour la Course au Large.
