The race crosses the Mediterranean, joining two coastal cities, Palermo in Italy and Monte Carlo in Monaco with the mandatory gate set in the vicinity of Porto Cervo in Sardinia. The symbolic idea behind the sailing adventure of 500 nautical miles is a true twinning of the two cities, their citizens and the two renowned sailing clubs. As the member of the Yacht Club de Monaco, Esimit Europa 2 is a symbol of the race and it is a great honour for it to compete for the club. After setting a course record in 2010 and taking line honours in 2011 and in 2012, Esimit Europa 2 will be meeting the challenge for the fourth time in 2015.
The Palermo – Monte Carlo Race is organised by Circolo della Vela Sicilia and Yacht Club de Monaco in conjunction with Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.
