The Volcano Race will be on the schedule of the Mediterranean offshore sailing season as one of the first races for the maxis for the 5th consecutive time. Esimit Europa 2 will be participating in the race for the second time, after taking line honours in last year’s race during the Rolex Capri Sailing Week.
In 2015, this scenic race will take the fleet from Gaeta, just north of Naples, around the Aeolian Islands - a magnificent archipelago in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea, including the active volcano of Stromboli – over a course of about 460 nautical miles.
The race is organised by the International Maxi Association, in association with the Yacht Club Gaeta E.V.S. and the Base Nautica Flavio Gioia.
