The christening of Esimit Europa 2 is approaching fast and the yacht launch in Cannes is only a little more than two weeks away. After it was announced that Vasilij Zbogar, one of the most successful Slovenian sailors, will join the crew, Flavio Favini, the Italian sailing star, also confirmed his participation. Eight-time World champion in different classes, three-time European and twenty-time Italian champion in the Admiral’s Cup will become the skipper on the Esimit Europa 2 yacht and take on a key role in securing the victories in the world's most prestigious regattas.

The experienced 47-year old was first introduced to sailing as a child by his father, himself an accomplished sailor. He started sailing in the Optimist class, moved on to the Laser class as a teen and later continued his career in the Finn and Soling classes. “Sailing is my passion that I enjoy immensely. Winning with every crew I join is the motivation I need to achieve excellent results in the largest regattas all over the world," said Flavio Favini. “As the skipper on the Esimit Europa 2 yacht I will focus entirely on leading the crew and achieving our final goal - winning all the regattas we compete in this year."
